DCR Politics: Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell congratulates Joe Biden on his presidential win.☕☕☕

Ayyyeee… What’s Goodie Everyone. So I got some tea and it involves Mitch McConnell and Joe Biden.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R.KY.) congratulated President elect Joe Biden and Vice President elect Kamala D. Harris on their victory, one day after the electoral college voted in state capitals across the country. “The electoral college has spoken. So today I want to congratulate President elect Joe Biden,” McConnell said in remarks on the Senate floor.

McConnell’s remarks came as Biden is heading off to Georgia to campaign for two Democratic Senate candidates competing in runoff elections. The races will determine which party will control the Senate when Biden takes office. Even as more Republicans acknowledge there will be a new president in January, Trump is continuing to deny the outcome. Early Tuesday, he tweeted, “This Fake Election can no longer stand.”

McConnell’s acknowledgement came after a long praise of Trump’s tenure on both foreign and domestic policy, sayinh Trump had “shored up our footing on the world stage” and had reshaped the federal judiciary, including his three Supreme Court picks.
